What should I wear?
We ask that attire reflect the dignity of the Mass and the sacredness of our worship. Many parishioners choose to wear their “Sunday best,” while others opt for more casual clothing, especially in the summer months. Both are welcome.
We kindly request that clothing remain modest and respectful. Shorts should be of a conservative length, and overall attire should express reverence for the liturgy. Whether you come dressed formally or casually, we are grateful you are here to worship with us.

I’m Not Catholic—How Will I Know When to Sit, Stand, and Kneel?
Please do not feel uneasy about the postures or responses during the Mass. Many visitors simply follow the example of those around them, and you are welcome to participate at your own comfort level.
Worship aids are provided in each pew, outlining the order of the Mass, the postures, and the words to the prayers. Should you need assistance, our ushers will be glad to provide you with one and answer any questions.
I’m Not Catholic—Is It Okay for Me to Participate in Communion?
In the Catholic Church, Holy Communion (the Eucharist) is the most sacred expression of our faith. We believe that the bread and wine, through the prayer of the priest, become the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Because of this profound belief, Holy Communion is ordinarily received only by practicing Catholics who are properly prepared.
If you are not Catholic, or if you choose not to receive, you are warmly invited to come forward during Communion with your arms crossed over your chest to receive a blessing from the priest. This is a meaningful way to participate in the liturgy and to join our community in prayer and reverence.
Am I Expected to Put Money in the Offering?
If you are visiting with us, please know there is no expectation to contribute to the offering—you are our guest, and we are grateful for your presence.
For those who consider St. Scholastica their spiritual home, we encourage you to prayerfully consider supporting the parish through regular giving. Offerings may be made during Mass by cash or check, or through our secure online giving option. Your generosity helps sustain the mission and ministries of our parish community.
